Nothing annoys me more than someone posting a review when they didn’t follow the recipe as written… and now someone posting a 1-star review who didn’t even TRY it. Use some common sense people!!! This is delicious as written. If you choose to spice it up or alter it somehow, that’s your choice but shouldn’t be a criticism of the recipe.

I saw this recipe on Facebook and now I see it here. I tried it today and added 3/4 cups brown rice and 1 1/2 cups more water. I used spicy diced tomatoes. I cooked it on top of the stove for about 1 1/2 hours on a simmer. It turned out so delicious. I serve it with sour cream on the side. I love cabbage rolls and this is a reasonable facsimile. There will be leftovers for lunches. Yum!

This was a very good recipe. However, I made a couple of adjustments. I wanted rice, so I added 1/2 cup of instant rice and added 1 cup of liquid. I try to use beef or chicken broth instead of water in most recipes, so I substituted beef broth in this case. My husband said it was better than rolled cabbage rolls. I agree, and I think the flavors blended better this way. I may never roll cabbage again.

For more flavor, I replace the plain tomato sauce with Campbell’s Tomato Soup.
