The name says it all. Comfort food has a special place in all our hearts. Our days might have gone horribly wrong, stressful or depressing. But comfort food can make the day better as per my experience.
It is inviting, and we tend to find solace in food close to our hearts and soul. It is not wrong guys. The last thing we need is to have a bad day and be stressed about what we eat as well. Food brings us happiness and lets it be that way! I love cooking in a crockpot. It aids in slow cooking without a fuss. It helps in unattended cooking for hours, which otherwise isn’t possible on a stovetop. So I end up using them a lot in my cooking. This recipe has chicken breasts that are slowly cooked in chicken soup with the richness from butter and intense flavor from bouillon.
Once cooked, the chicken is tender, full of flavor and all it needs is some noodles to perfectly balance the meal. You may add some vegetables as well for extra nourishment.
1 24 ounces package – frozen egg noodles
2 – 14.7 oz cans – the cream of chicken soup – sometimes I use 1 can chicken and 1 can cream of celery
1 stick (1/2) cup butter – cut into pieces
1 – 32 oz chicken broth – may want extra to thin out, if too thick. the frozen noodles thicken the broth
mixed vegetables – optional – I didn’t use this time
